“No. Mrs. Park is staying with Xander tonight.”

“Really?” I ask excitedly. “You’re okay with leaving him?”

“He’s right across the hall, baby. Mrs. Park knows where to find me.”

“She knows?” Suddenly, I’m feeling shy and a bit embarrassed by the thought of nice, sweet Mrs. Park knowing exactly what Max and I are up to tonight.

“Yeah.”

“Well, that’s mortifying.”

His hand gives me a squeeze and I can’t help but to notice the annoying smirk on his face. “Baby, we’re adults. I think she’ll understand.”

“Whatever,” I scoff burying my head in the pillow in mock anger, all the while enjoying the feel of his hands on my back. “You’re really good at that,” I tell him, my voice muffled by the pillow.
